About Tamika Hogan

Tamika is a self-taught oil painter, known for her evocative land and seascapes that capture the rugged charm unique to Western Australia’s coast.

Over the past six years, her paintings have found homes with collectors across the globe, drawn to her ability to translate both the power and stillness of nature into timeless works of art.

For Tamika, the Australian landscape isn’t just a muse, it’s woven into every part of her life. From days spent surfing and wandering remote trails with her young son, to evenings cooking by the campfire, these lived experiences all become threads in the tapestry of her work. With each painting she reflects this deep reverence of place.

“In many ways, my paintings have become a gallery of recollections—an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the beauty of our wild places. If my work brings a moment of calm or reflection, then I feel I have succeeded in my pursuit as an artist.” - Tamika

Working from her converted railway carriage studio on Wardandi Boodja (Margaret River, Western Australia), Tamika flows between co-parenting and full-time artistry, building a vibrant future for her and her son, one painting at a time.

An Art Studio with a Rich History in the Australian Landscape

After a lifetime of travelling through Australia’s vast and varied terrain, this 1950s railway carriage now rests in a little orchard in the heart of Margaret River.

Fully restored with its original heritage intact, the carriage features recycled vintage windows and jarrah floorboards. Thoughtfully styled by Tamika, the space is layered with vintage rugs, handmade pottery, and one-off earthy, timeworn textures, create a grounded sense of calm.

This light-filled, airy studio is a peaceful sanctuary where Tamika paints, often accompanied by native birds and kangaroos just outside the window.

If you’d like to view a particular artwork in person, the studio is open by private appointment for collectors and visitors.
