A Place of Rest

A Place of Rest
This scene first came to me in a dream- a Moodjar tree bathed in golden light, illuminating the land like a sacred beacon. Inspired by this vision, I set out on a creative pilgrimage of sorts, searching for a place where the light hit the tree in just the right way- revealing the landscape’s quiet divinity.
I then set out to reverse-engineered the scene onto canvas using the memory of my dream and a compilation of reference images. The Moodjar holds deep spiritual significance in Indigenous culture, revered as a bridge between worlds for passing spirits.
